# AdaLoop: Adaptive-Depth Latent Reasoning for Audio Language Models

Authors: Lee Seung-woo, Bowen Qi.

Adds a shared recurrent block between an audio encoder and language model. A question-conditioned halting mechanism chooses how many refinement passes to apply, with deeper computation learned for tasks requiring finer acoustic distinctions.

## Approaches

- [Recurrent reasoning](https://latent-implicit-thinking.github.io/topics/recurrent-reasoning/): Repeat parts of the model or keep intermediate information in memory while working through a problem. Some methods also learn how many passes to run.
